It might not be that big of a deal to not HAVE dark mode, but it's just an example of utter crappiness that BP makes people pay for it. The thing is, it makes sense to have to pay for an actual feature that causes the company to spend more money, or to reduce ads. For example, paying to be able to store more data in the app's servers. But when they charge you for this that are a simple binary switch in the system, like dark mode or allowing YouTube app to keep playing when the phone screen is turned off, is absolutely s****y. And more and more companies are doing things like this.
